Most family tree templates are designed to show names in boxes. But family history is more than names. Families are made up of relationships, memories, photographs, places, stories, traditions and the sources that help future generations understand what was preserved.
The Heritage Grove Family Tree Workbook was created as a simple place to begin. It helps families record the people in their family, connect them through parent-child and spouse relationships, and preserve the details that often disappear when nobody writes them down.

Use the Parent-Child Links sheet to connect each child to their parents.
3. Add spouses and partners
Record marriages, spouses, partners or other unions.
4. Explore relationships
The workbook uses your parent-child links to help show siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and descendants.
5. Preserve more than names
Add stories, photographs, events and sources so your family tree becomes a richer family archive.

Before You Download:
This workbook is designed for Microsoft Excel 365 or a recent version of Excel.
Some formulas may not work correctly in older versions of Excel, LibreOffice or Google Sheets.
The workbook is also intentionally person-centred. It does not draw one enormous family tree containing everyone. Instead, you select one person at a time to view their profile, relationships, descendants and printable family tree.
